General Updates
From DODD: Provider Termination for Failure to Bill
Last fall, the Ohio General Assembly passed a law requiring DODD to end certifications for all providers who have been certified for two or more years and have not billed in the last 24 months.
DODD is now beginning to end these certifications and will send letters to affected providers in the coming weeks. To comply with the law, DODD will regularly end certifications for any providers who have not billed in the last 24 months.
View the law for the termination of the certificate for failure to bill for services.
Independent Provider Overtime Process
After an independent provider has worked sixty hours in a work week providing any Medicaid-funded services as an independent provider, that independent provider may provide additional units of services under a home and community-based services Medicaid waiver component administered by the department as an independent provider in that work week only when authorized by the Service and Support Administrator (SSA) for the individual for whom the additional services are provided or due to an emergency.
- Requests for overtime exceeding 60 hours shall be submitted to the SSA using page 3 of the Overtime and limit on number of hours in a work week the IP may provide services procedure.
- Planned overtime requests shall be submitted to the SSA at least 30 days before the planned event.
- Emergency overtime requests shall be submitted to the SSA within 72 hours of the overage.
