The Racers (23 athletes) headed out for Summer
Games on Friday, Jun 22. WHAT A GREAT DAY IT WAS!!! The 1st stop of the
day was a 1st for the Racers. We stopped at the Delaware City Police Dept.
and participated in the Torch Run through Delaware with local law
enforcement officials. WOW, what better way to start out the Summer Games
weekend. One of our athletes was chosen to run the torch through Delaware
and the other athletes were allowed to run or ride on the bus which followed
behind. After the Torch Run we had a police escort out of town!!!

The athletes competed in track n field, bocce
ball, power lifting and gymnastics Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday.
There was also a little fun time thrown in with Opening Ceremonies and Tent
Town on Friday night and Saturday night we attended the Clippers Game at
Cooper Stadium.
A great time was had by all. We came home with
53 medals/ribbons, 10 of those being GOLD medals.
